- A Shanghai-based trader reported to SSESSMENTS.COM that on June 18, local and localized PE offers from the trader increased by CNY50-100/ton ($7-14/ton) from a day earlier following the uptrend in the futures market coupled with low inventory level in the domestic market. The trader opined that domestic PE prices will increase in the upcoming week when most July shipment offers from foreign suppliers started to come out. However, buying sentiment coming to July and August would not be positive since July-August is the traditional low season for PE in China.
- In the import market, a trader informed SSESSMENTS.COM that the company did not receive many fresh import PE offers. Fresh PE offers from a Russian producer will be out by next week as the company has restarted PE production this week. While from the trader’s end, Middle Eastern and US HDPE Film offers are available between $840-850/ton and $820/ton, respectively on LC at sight, CIF China Main Port basis. The trader added that import PE prices will mostly out on Monday or Tuesday as June 25 to June 28 are China’s public holiday.
