European plastic producers group PlasticsEurope sharply raised its investment plan in chemical recycling from EUR2.6 billion (USD3.16 billion) in 2025 to EUR7.2 billion (USD8.77 billion) in 2030.
The member companies will hike their investment in feedstock recycling to manufacture 1.2 million tonnes of recycled plastics by 2025 and 3.4 million tonnes by 2030.
The group plays a top role in realizing the target of the European Commission’s Circular Plastics Alliance to using 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics in the region by 2025.
