AlwaysFree: Partial Curbs Extended in Manila

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Monday, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said that partial coronavirus restrictions in and around the capital region Manila will be extended until October 31 to halt the spread of the virus.

People must still wear masks, face shields and observe one-meter social distancing, while children, the elderly and pregnant women are urged to stay at home. Most businesses, including dine-in services, have been allowed to reopen since Manila exited strict lockdown measures on August 19.

Face-to-face classes will still be forbidden until a vaccine becomes available, and public schools set to reopen with virtual classes on October 5.

Yesterday, the country reported 3,073 new coronavirus cases with 37 deaths, making the country to be the Southeast Asian country with the most cases at 307,288 with 5,281 deaths.
