AlwaysFree: Over 95% Of Crude Oil Production In US Gulf Of Mexico Offline Due To Hurricane Ida

Author: SSESSMENTS

The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said that about 95.65% of crude oil production and 93.75% of natural gas output in the US Gulf of Mexico were shut ahead of the Category 4 hurricane Ida. BSEE added that workers from 288 production platforms or 51.43% of the 560 manned platforms in the region, had been evacuated. Now that the storm has passed, producers are expected to start facility inspection. They will restart production from undamaged platforms once all standard checks have been completed. Meanwhile, damaged facilities will require repair and further safety assessments before resuming operations.
