On Sunday, a fire broke out at Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex)’s offshore platform in the southern Gulf of Mexico, injuring at least 5 people.
According to the Mexican national energy company, the blaze occurred at the E-Ku-A2 platform at Pemex's Ku-Maloob-Zaap oil field in the Bay of Campeche. The platform was in operation when the fire started and workers were evacuated.
It was brought under control around 4.30 PM (21.30 GMT).
