According to Enverus, ConocoPhillips has become the number two biggest producer in the Permian Basin after its purchase of Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s assets in the basin.
The Shell deal is estimated to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
Earlier in 2021, Conoco was ranked fourth in the basin following its purchase of Concho Resources Inc.
