According to the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said that after Hurricane Ida, roughly 30.1 million barrels of crude oil have been missing from the country.
Due to the hurricane four weeks ago, 31 platforms in the US Gulf of Mexico were still closed by Thursday, with a loss of 294,414 barrels of oil.
The oil market has been heavily affected by the hurricane as the US oil stockpiles are at the lowest since 2018. Other than that, the inventories in Europe stay under the average levels for this time of year.
BSEE will stop reporting the loss of production as Ida is deemed to no longer be a threat to the Gulf’s oil and gas production.
